First Week of School

I had a fairly successful first week of school in many aspects. It looks like my class schedule is not too hard and I shouldn't have a ton of homework this semester. So classes are looking good. It was also good to get back out on the basketball court with my teammates and play some 5 on 5. This week was my first full court games I've played since I left Seward for the summer.

With all the classes, basketball, and hanging out with friends, I felt I did a great job of spending enough time with Leah as well as mixed in some poker here and there. As for poker this week, I had very few losing sessions and no losing days. When those things happen, the numbers obviously rise and I ended up somewhere between $8,000 and $10,000 this week. I am so excited to see those numbers because I have had so many other things going on this week. I definitely believe that when a poker player has other fun things going on in his life, his poker playing will improve. This is another reason why there is no way I could just play poker for a living. I know that I would make more money if my days are busy and I fit poker in here and there then I would if all I had was poker. I went all week without Leah even seeing me play at all which is pretty amazing considering it is one of my top five best weeks pokerwise. She had no idea that I had been pwning a lot. It is not that she minds if I play, I am just glad that poker hasn't gotten in the way of our relationship.

This upcoming week is going to be exciting. Preseason basketball officially begins on Monday. Also, my brother is playing football against the University of Iowa (who is #16 in the preseason polls) on Saturday. So my dad is coming through Seward on Friday to pick me up and go to the game. It will be an awesome site to see my brother play football in front of over 80,000 fans. The game will be on ESPN U at 12:00 ET if anyone wants to watch it on tv. Well, that is what's on tap for the upcoming week. It should be a fun one.
